WE LOVE
ANIMALS

For many of us, pets are more than just pets; they are family members.  They are an integral part of our everyday lives, depending on us for care and shelter, and in return, offering unconditional love.

We love documenting this special bond, from a run on the beach, to curled up on the couch, we aim to capture the spirit of your beloved pet and the love that you share.

We take a natural approach to our images, working closely with you to create images that you will want to display in your home.  Our style is expressive and candid, with an emphasis on emotion and the documenting of love through frozen moments in time.

We look forward to working with you and your furry family members to create a memorable experience, and lasting imagery.

Have Questions?

MY DOG GETS EASILY DISTRACTED, WILL YOU BE ABLE TO GET PHOTOS OF HIM?

Yes.  The majority of dogs I take photos of are easily distracted.  I use a combination of location, treats, squeaky toys and weird noises to get their attention.

MY DOG CAN'T BE OFF-LEASH IN PUBLIC AREAS, IS THAT OK?

Yes!  In fact, in most locations, it is unlawful to have your dog off-leash.  I find that having your dog on-leash during their session helps against distraction and provides a little more control over poses.  In most situations, I can remove the leash during editing, to give the illusion that your dog is a world class model ;)

WHERE WILL YOU TAKE PHOTOS OF MY PET?

I will take photos anywhere you want to go in the Mackay region.  The beach, botanic gardens, your home, rural areas, and in the city heart, are all great places.  Pick a place where you and your pet will be most comfortable, and of course set the backdrop for the type of photos you want.  Ideally for dogs, they would have already been to the location a number of times before.

For cats, I highly recommended having the photos taken at home.

WHAT HAPPENS ON THE DAY?

We have fun!  We will meet up at the location at the session time (usually late afternoon for the beautiful light at that time of day).  We have a quick chat, and a get-to-know each other, and then we start taking some photos.  My aim is to make you and your pet/s feel as comfortable and natural as possible during the session.  You don't need to stress if they aren't doing exactly what they're told.  Each pet is individual, and I cater to their personality.  There is no cookie cutter photo session.  Each is unique.

WHY SPEND THIS MUCH MONEY ON PHOTOS OF MY PET?

Why not?  Our pets give us so much unconditional love, and live for such a short time.  Wouldn't you want a photo of them that not only shows what they looked like, but captured a bit of their personality too?

CAN I BE IN THE PHOTOS?

Yes!  While the focus of a pet photography session is obviously your pet, I highly encourage you to jump in a few photos.  It shows off your bond together, and provides some of the best outtakes ;)

MY PET IS OLD, OR VERY SICK, IS IT TOO LATE TO GET SOME PHOTOS?

Not at all.  As someone who has experienced the loss of a truly loved pet, I can honestly say it is never too late.  If you are in this situation, I go out of my way to ensure the session is booked for as soon as possible (even if I am technically 'booked out').  I come to your home, and take the photos there, to ensure your pet is as comfortable as possible, and you are all provided with the privacy you need.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GET MY IMAGES?

Your images are uploaded a maximum of 4 weeks after your session.

I DON'T WANT MY IMAGES SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA, IS THAT OK?

Yes!  As always, if you do not want images of yourself, or your pets, shared on social media, you have every right to let me know that, and I respect your decision.

WHEN DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SESSION?

We do not send you an invoice until after the session.  As soon as you forward payment, and your images are edited, we will upload the images to your gallery, and forward you an email with the details.

CAN WE ORDER CANVASES, PRINTS AND ALBUMS FROM OUR SESSION?

Yes!  When we email you the gallery, we also let you know of the print services we can provide.  As you have a full print release of your images, you can take them anywhere you like to have printed yourself, but we do provide the option for high quality products, including canvases, prints and albums.

WHY YOU?

I have been told that I have the ability to capture the true nature and personality of a pet through my lens.  I truly focus on the animal, and capture as much of their personality as they will allow to shine through during the session.  I absolutely love animals, and have made pet photography my speciality.
